The English Day in photos
On 26th September 2012 our school celebrated The English Day Project. We began the day with MA Agnieszka Andrzejewska, from The Teacher Training College in Przemyśl, who acquainted us with the issue of ‘Cool Britannia’. The lecture contained information on the British Royal Family, music, movies and politics of the nineties. The other visitor in our school was MA Robert Oliwa. His presentation was entitled ‘Web Tools That R Cool And Rule’. It presented students with a lot of fascinating facts about the Internet and how much we can benefit from using it to learn English. There are hundreds of free-to-use applications that can facilitate our studies.
After the meeting there was an occasion for our students to display a variety of sweets and cakes and refreshments connected with English traditions and culture which were made by the students themselves. Everyone could taste the delicious snacks. There was also an exhibition of posters prepared by students on the topic of ‘Why Is It Worth Learning English?’.
Finally, we had also an opportunity to cheer on our colleagues who participated in a contest checking our knowledge of the English speaking countries and their culture, traditions, politics and lifestyle.
To sum up, we consider this project as a great chance for all students in our school to learn more about English speaking countries.
That was definitely an extremely nice day for us!
